These pliers are made of chrome vanadium steel for long life and superior durability, and have cushioned handles for improved comfort and ease of use. Equipped with side pins to ensure easy and accurate opening of bands. Suitable for size 4 USGS and Canadian Wildlife Service bands. If using with non-federal bands, be certain to check size guidelines before applying, as not all band manufacturers conform to federal band sizing.
NEW: We now carry the new 4 SW pliers made specifically for number 4 short bands which are used with species such as Saw-whet owls. The standard 4 band is 3/8" in height, and the short 4 is 1/4". The 4 SW plier is narrower to accommodate the decreased height of the short 4.
Should you need to make an order that exceeds stock-on-hand, or for larger institutional orders, just give us a call.
We recommend that you also have our band removal pliers on hand should it prove necessary to pull a band for any reason.
